There is a theory that when one or more senses are restricted then other senses are heightened. In regards to sex and sex acts this is called sensory deprivation sex. It usually focuses on one person being the dominant (that being the one in control of the deprivation) and the other submissive (the person being deprived).
This whole idea falls under a wider category of actions called BDSM. BDSM contains many ideas and concepts that are certainly unconventional ways of having sex or arousing one another. Sex toys, Bondage, pain, control and power play, are just some of the many aspects involved in this area.
Sensory deprivation sex involves the following restrictions:
Sight – Sight can be restricted using a blindfold or mask. many people find this sexy and erotic.
Smell – A harder sense to control but with other senses deprived, scented candles or other aromas can become stimulants.
Taste – Some people play with erotic and tasty foods, blindfolding and feeding each other.
Sound – Most restrict or control the sounds heard with headphones. Sometimes playing music or simply depriving the person of sound altogether.
Touch – With all these other senses controlled touch should become much more intense. Also deprived by restraining the person with handcuffs or ties.
It is very important to be careful and considerate whilst experimenting with sensory deprivation sex. If this experience stops being comfortable and enjoyable for the deprived person it must cease immediately. This is due to the fact that the person being submissive is making a choice to do so and putting themselves in a very vulnerable position. If this trust is taken advantage of, the partner can be extremely affected by this betrayal. Do not try this unless you completely trust your partner.
